Benefits of Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers can be used to conceal a variety of dental imperfections, from chips and cracks to deep stains and discolorations. By adjusting the size and shape of the veneer, Dr. Tellman can also make crooked teeth appear straight, and fill in small gaps between the teeth. The translucent nature of porcelain allows light to pass through to the natural tooth, mimicking the shine of tooth enamel for a completely natural appearance. Placement of Traditional Porcelain Veneers
Dr. Tellman can prepare your teeth and place your porcelain veneers in just two visits to his Indianapolis practice. During the first visit, he will prepare your teeth for veneers by removing a thin layer of enamel from the front surface of your teeth. Impressions of your teeth will then be taken and sent to a dental laboratory so that your new veneers can be crafted to Dr. Tellman’s exact specifications.
You will wear temporary veneers for about two weeks until your permanent veneers are ready. Then, you will return to our practice to have your permanent porcelain veneers placed. At this time, Dr. Tellman will make sure that the veneers fit perfectly, make any minor adjustments that are needed, and bond them in place.
LUMINEERS® No-prep Veneers
Dr. Tellman is proud to offer LUMINEERS® for patients throughout the Indianapolis area. LUMINEERS® are so thin that they can be placed directly on top of the natural tooth without removing any enamel. Because the natural tooth stays intact, LUMINEERS® can be removed at any time, making the process reversible. However, most patients are so pleased with the result of LUMINEERS® that they never want them removed. LUMINEERS® are made from patented Cerinate® porcelain and are clinically proven to last up to 20 years with proper care.
Placement of LUMINEERS®
The placement process for LUMINEERS® is similar to the process of placing traditional porcelain veneers, except that during the first appointment, Dr. Tellman will simply take an impression of your teeth without removing any enamel. He will send this impression to the Cerinate® Smile Design Studio, where your LUMINEERS® will be custom crafted. You will then return for a second appointment to have your LUMINEERS® placed.
